All libraries have public information services. They are provided with the view of resources available in an individual library.
To get the information you need you may try

• Reference services – Ask your library service
• www pages of individual libraries – to retrieve a needed contact use section “Czech libraries directory”

Borrow a book or other material

Libraries provide lending services as stated in their Rules. You have to have a library card.
Information on a particular library collection may be found

• In union catalogues
• In scanned catalogues of some libraries (There is no English version)
• In a catalogue of a specific library available usually in online version (www pages). To retrieve a an address use section “Czech libraries directory”

All libraries have interlibrary loan services. Should the required material be in some other library, apply for interlibrary loan.

Get a photocopy

• From a collection of a certain library – for information and contacts use www pages - section “Czech libraries directory”
  Request can be made by mail, e-mail or fax. There is a charge for this service.
• You may use Document Delivery service for which you have to have signed agreement and user’ account. The electronics copies are available only for Czech citizens.

• Interlibrary loan services – apply in the library where you are registered or the library in a place where you live/work/study. The National Library is the centre for international interlibrary loan for the Czech Republic.

Internet access

On the whole, Czech libraries have internet. Public access is regulated by the library Rules. Usually, internet is available to registered users only.
